So back when everything opened outdoors on the 12th of April, I did a blog on places that were open and things to do around Ormskirk, so I only felt it was fitting to do another one now we have made It to the next stage! No more mandatory outdoor pints (unless the sun decides to make an appearance anytime soon, please…) however this time I will be including places in Liverpool too which is only a short, cheap train ride away from Ormskirk!
Breakfast
I know one of the first things I will be doing is going out for breakfast, and even though there have been a few places open already outdoors my favourite ever breakfast place opens today, and I could not be happier!
Cobble coffee!
Cobble are located on Church Street in the town centre and have two floors of tables and the most amazing menu ranging from eggs benedict, paninis, smoothies, bagels, basically any breakfast lover’s dream. They are open from 9am everyday and no bookings are required, prices are so reasonable too.
There are also other lovely breakfast places in Ormskirk:
- The Edge, also opening today, located on St. Helens road
- Mandrakes, located on St. Helens Road (however do not open until 22nd May)
- Bagel Deli, located on Moor street.
- Many many more!
Junkyard Golf (Liverpool One)
Junkyard Golf is located in Liverpool One and is such a fun day/night out. They have “Crazy Golf, Mad cocktails & Bad Puns!”. There are 3 courses to choose from; Pablo, Gary, and Bozo all with different themes and you can choose to do one or all three to make your day longer! The prices are cheap at £8.50 off-peak or £10 peak per game. I definitely recommend the Fairway to Heaven cocktail which is a mixture of Vodka, cherryade, Vimto and citrus topped with a different range of sweets! You can book online here: Liverpool Pricing – Junkyard Golf Club.
Baltic Market
Baltic Market is Liverpool’s first street food market, in and outdoor located at Cains Brewery Village, Stanhope Street, L8 5XJ. There are no bookings required and they are open from the 17th May 7 days a week with a range of opening and closing times, they keep these times updated on their Instagram page @balticmarket and any other updates are posted there. They have a range of amazing traders offering a wide variety of food and drink, with vegetarian and vegan options available too!
If you are a Greek lover then you NEED to try Christakis who offer a whole range of authentic Greek food. Press Bros. Coffee are also another must try trader, they offer alcoholic martini cocktails in a variety of flavours including KINDER BUENO AND BISCOFF! They are to die for and don’t actually have a strong coffee taste (I hate coffee normally but love these) and they have just recently introduced a Terry’s Chocolate Orange Martini… need I say more?
These are not the only places that have reopened for the 17th of May, there will be hundreds of businesses, small and large, in and around Ormskirk and Liverpool that would love and benefit from your support. Small cafes, Toby Carvery, Cinemas, Restaurants, pubs, retail shops, the list is endless so make sure to look around and support your town centres! Hopefully, this is the last time everywhere has to re-open (except the clubs on 21st June) and this is the beginning of the end, finally for what feels like the 100th time! I hope you have enjoyed my blog and have lots of things planned going forward! Stay Safe!
